Mr. Sangmin Han, a partner at Hanbyol Law LLC, will present a practical response centered on the changes to the waterproofing layer thickness standard in the 2026 revision of the Construction Appraisal Practice. Mr. Han will present the impact of the amendments on the court's determination of defects and the legal interpretation, and will detail the issues to be aware of in practice based on the fact that appraisal results can determine the outcome of litigation.

In particular, Han will discuss documentation of standards in design drawings and specifications, securing evidence of the construction and inspection process, legal issues of compensation method and cost calculation, and strategies for technical and legal rebuttal of appraisal reports. In addition, the workshop will provide practical measures to minimize on-site management and legal risks, such as selecting and coordinating appraisers, preserving evidence and organizing expert opinions, improving subcontract and contract management, and establishing a response system for each stage of litigation.
