Byung-Han Ahn, a lawyer at Hanbyol Law LLC, has been appointed as the director of the Danaeun Center for Social Public Interest, an investigative organization under the Special Committee on Negligence. The center is responsible for receiving and investigating cases of rights violations and unfairness occurring at research sites, providing legal advice, preventing excessive damage and supporting legal responses in the event of unintentional technology leakage.

Ms. Ahn's activities are directly related to the five tasks set forth by the Special Committee: preventing violations of fundamental rights due to administrative and favoritist systems, improving research output ownership and technology transfer practices, preventing undue damage related to technology leakage, eliminating administrative favoritism, and enhancing transparency in appointments and promotions. The Center will contribute to protecting researchers' rights and interests and enhancing transparency in the science and technology ecosystem by providing legal advice on cases, as well as finding countermeasures and guiding procedures.
